The ship construction department is involved from the preliminary design onwards. The fleet managers are responsible for maintenance and equipment of the actual fleet. Every project is different and every single time the optimal configuration is determined. And if it doesn’t exist, we make it ourselves!
Your tasks and responsibilities are:
Design of components and steel structures for ships and offshore structures in 2D & 3D from initial design to production drawings
Strength calculation and reports of steel structures by both hand calculation and Finite Element Analysis
Consultation with internal departments to determine design constraints
2D & 3D drawings of steel constructions and mechanical parts
Follow-up of production drawings and offer technical support to CAD designers
Feasibility studies
You have a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering Electro Mechanics / Industrial Design or a bachelor’s degree in Electro Mechanics with a couple of years relevant work experience.
You have experience with 2D & 3D design as well as experience with Finite Element Analysis and the technical knowledge for supporting hand calculations. Experience with marine design, ship structures or offshore structures is an advantage, along with knowledge of PTC Creo Elements, PTC Windchill and Ansys Mechanical.
