Offshore Production Engineer

Aalst, Belgium

Jan De Nul Group offers specialised services for the offshore renewable energy market. Whether it concerns seabed preparation, scour protection, subsea cables, umbilicals, monopile or jacket foundations, wind turbines or offshore substations: everything is always tailored to the needs of the client and on an EPC-basis if required. Do you want to be part of our international team?

As Offshore Production Engineer, you assess the technical viability of the project and define the most productive installation methodology and vessel deployment from early project development. You determine activity durations and production cycles and assess workability and interfaces of the project execution. Afterwards, during project execution, you will follow up whether the works go as planned from the head office combined with short site and vessel visits aiming at increasing vessel productivity.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Define project-specific production estimates for heavy lift, cable lay and rock installation operations for projects worldwide
  • Identify and report technical project risks, both in tender and execution phase
  • Work together with the geology and geotechnical engineering teams to define soil constraints on the production process
  • Liaise with the dredging production team to discuss seabed preparation works
  • Analyse data from past installations and make prediction models by means of data science tools such as PowerBI, python and Excel
  • Follow up on daily vessel progress through daily reporting
  • Assist in R&D projects to develop future ships and installation methods
  • Cooperate with the Tender, Technical and Operation Departments in order to share knowledge and optimize the works
