Tax Advisor

As Tax Advisor you assist your colleague Tax Managers in their daily tasks and responsibilities including:

  • Preparation and execution of tax calculations, estimates and reports in order to pursue a correct tax policy;
  • Examining and assessing tax clauses in tender documents and contracts and implementing changes where necessary. Pointing out risks and providing advice to the tender and legal department; 
  • Collecting data and documents on tax laws and obligations in complex tax files;
  • Provide advice to the Area Controller/Project Controller during project implementation and support in Tax Compliance management;
  • Preparing and finalizing corporate tax returns of mainly Belgian companies;
  • Assisting with tax audits and handling tax disputes nationally and internationally;
  • Following up evolutions in tax legislation in an international context in order to provide correct advice on more tax-technically complex files.

You will be based at our easily accessible offices in Aalst (Hofstade) and are willing to travel for short missions to Luxembourg when necessary. You will mainly work as part of a team and under the direction of a Tax Manager within the Tax team. Furthermore you will collaborate reguraly with your colleagues from the personnel department, calculation department, legal department, accounting department, procurement department, Area and Project Controllers.

Being a strong player, Jan De Nul Group also needs a strong Financial Department. The department guarantees financial expertise to the entire group: from accounting, data controlling to bank guarantees. You posses a Bachelor's degree in Law or an economic discipline (Accountacy/Tax, TEW option Tax or Commercial Sciences) and at least 3 years' relevant work experience within Tax, preferably in an international environment. You have a good knowledge of Belgian tax law and have experience with Belgian Tax compliance obligations. Knowledge of international taxation is a plus.

You have strong communication skills with a very good knowledge of Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is considered a plus.
You are a result-oriented person, driven and have an eye for detail. You have good organization skills and a sense of initiative.
