Quality Advisor International Projects

Jan De Nul Group is a market leader in dredging and marine works as well as a specialised provider of services for the offshore market of oil, gas and renewables. The Group is also a major player in civil engineering, environmental and brownfield development projects. For this variety in activities, we are looking for Quality minded Engineers.

As a Quality Advisor / Engineer, you manage Quality matters in Prequalification, Tender and early start-up stage for different projects from within a team. You continuously strive to keep the balance between quality, cost and timeframe, preserving the compliance with our Jan De Nul Group Management System, client requirements and (local) legislation.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Evaluate the various execution techniques from a Quality point of view in order to start up a technically and commercially interesting project, assist in selecting the most appropriate equipment and execution method in collaboration with the Project Engineers and specialised in-house departments.
  • Assess potential suppliers and subcontractors (based on inspections and audits) and assist in their selection.
  • Facilitate Client audits and inspections, explain and promote our Jan De Nul Group Quality management system / philosophy to the Client.
  • Evaluate the risks related to your project, and assist the Project Manager in achieving SMART objectives.
  • Prepare project specific Quality documents (project execution plan, inspection and test plan) in tender stage and support the project team during the execution phase. Follow up compliance to the system, identify Non-Conformities and propose Opportunities for Improvement.
  • Explain and defend your recommendations towards your project team, (joint venture) partners and the client



You hold a Master's degree in a technical or science discipline (construction or mechanics) and are proficient in MS Office (especially Excel). Knowledge of the English language is a must, additional language skills are a plus.

You are result-driven, have a proactive nature and the ability to prioritise and plan effectively in order to meet specific deadlines, along with a confident, meticulous and professional attitude. These are essential character traits for this position.

You like to work in a team. As we work on different continents, with different nationalities and religions, willingness to travel and being open mind are also core requirements. You preferably have experience in successfully working with different clients and teams.

You have a practical and hands-on approach and continuously try to communicate, coach and guide people.

You have a problem-solving mind-set and a strong sense of self-initiative in order to improve the working culture and deliver with a high quality standard and on time.
