Procurement Engineer Offshore Works

For years, Jan De Nul Group has been specialising in specific offshore services for the oil, gas and renewable energy markets. These works vary from intervention works on the seafloor, rock installation and ballasting to installation of offshore windfarms and subsea power and umbilical cables.

As Procurement Engineer, you are responsible for the strategic and economically feasible procurement within the framework of project specific requirements and in line with the company politics. This task is situated in a challenging offshore and engineering context. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensure that the project related purchases evolve according to a certain strategy and follow the applicable standards
  • Source new potential suppliers and recommend new suppliers based on costs, specifications, inspections and risk assessment
  • Advise on the selection of equipment & spare parts during the award phase
  • Manage all information regarding market prices of the necessary material and equipment
  • Active, even pro-active participation in complex DBFM, D&B and EPC projects in close collaboration with the project team
  • Network and make new acquaintances in the business.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary project team

Profile

You obtain a master degree in engineerin and already have some experience with procurement in the offshore branch.

You are a largely independent organiser and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

You possess excellent communication and commercial skills, combined with analytical mind and overall technical knowledge.

You are a proactive team player who works at the Aalst head office but makes frequent short business trips abroad.
