Logistical Desk Administrator

The Logistical Desk Administrator is closely involved in the preparations of our offshore projects. Most of our offshore projects are initially prepared from our offices in Belgium and/or Luxembourg. As part of the project team, you will investigate all the applicable customs procedures and contact customs agents during the first phase of a project.

In addition to your dynamic office function which requires plenty of interaction with the project team, short work trips to site locations are required. On site, you are responsible to set-up the customs administration flow and to meet with the local customs & logistical representatives. You are part of the Import/ Export team and contribute to improving our internal systems.

Within this dynamic project team the Logistical Desk Administrator is responsible for the customs import/export administration for vessels, offshore machinery & equipment and local freight & transport. Your main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Arranging the custom import and export administration according to the company's logistics policy and the prevailing local customs legislation.
  • Set up and follow up on complete and correct records of all movements of goods and services that are subject to customs import and/or export.
  • Archiving of all administrative customs import and export matters via our internal systems.
  • Coordination of all customs movements with Project Management and our Technical department.
  • Contributing to the overall improvement and development of the import / export administration in Jan De Nul Group.

Profile

Profile

You have a Bachelor degree in Logistics or similar study domain. Alternatively, you display from previous working experience a profound knowledge on customs documentation & processes, related VAT regulations and alike. Relevant working experience is considered a plus, however fresh graduates are more than welcome to apply as well. You will be deployed in our offices in Aalst and/or Luxembourg. In addition, you will make short work trips to various locations and sites worldwide. You are flexible, independent and have a good sense of initiative.

You are a team player by nature, you are bursting with energy and you know how to tackle challenges. You set high standards for the quality of your own work and strive to improve both yourself and the organization. You have an eye for detail as well as for the complete picture. Knowledge of Dutch and English is a must, additional language(s) is a plus.
