Acoustic Modeling Engineer

Jan De Nul Group is strongly aware that its activities often take place in surroundings that are very sensitive. The in-house marine environmental department follows up the projects during all phases all over the world.

We are looking for an Acoustic Modeling Engineer to work for the Marine Environmental Department in Aalst. The focus will be on underwater sound monitoring and mitigation systems that need to be implemented during the installation of offshore foundations. Sound monitoring in air however is also an important factor for certain projects.

Your tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Providing advice on possible sound-damping techniques during the tender phase for offshore and dredging projects.
  • Carrying out studies using high tech equipment for projects all over the world (with short trips abroad).
  • Processing, interpreting and reporting of measurement data.
  • Monitoring of internal and external studies and measurement campaigns.
  • Sound propagation modelling in air and under water, with and without mitigation measures.
